Mark H. Potter, Office Manager / Paralegal
Originally from Lexington and later Pocasset, (Cape Cod) Massachusetts, Mark spent many years in the marine industry. In 1986, he left the business to join a management consulting firm designing productivity based employee incentive compensation plans. That same year Mark and Deborah began implementing their long-term goal of moving to Maine. By 1989, when the law office in Damariscotta had grown to the point where the addition of staff became necessary, it was an easy decision for him to give up the long hours and frequent air travel of the consulting practice in favor of staying closer to home and family.
Mark has been active in community service having served as a director at the Damariscotta Lake Watershed Association, director and treasurer of the Damariscotta-Newcastle Rotary Club and Treasurer of The Lincoln Home. He was active in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary as a Boat Crew Qualification Examiner and is past Commander of the Boothbay Harbor Flotilla. Come spring, when not at work, you will find him “simply messing about in boats”.
Mark brings a wealth of business, management, legal and financial skills and experience to work for our clients in a variety of ways. His is usually the first voice you will hear when calling our office. He maintains our office information technology systems, handles document production, fiduciary and trustee accounting for our clients as well as the fiduciary, estate and income tax work.
